Our company checks all engines or out~board motor's for compression and run ability. If anything is needed when a boat comes in, we do it. We make sure all boats are in good running order. Some may need a little TLC and some may be in A-1 Pristine condition! If they have power we make sure the power is ready to go! If it needs a tune up, we do it. If it needs a belt, we put it on.

    Aside from me bragging about all the loaded features the only thing that needs to be replaced is the Generator. The good news is that the Generator plumbing is all there & ready to go for her new owner. Cost of Generator is Roughly 8,500.00 BRAND NEW.     The sign in front of the Orca 36 got my attention. It read: Top speed 43 mph; range 1,000 miles at 30 mph. That’s a cruise from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas in two days, without refueling. The Orca 36 is full of clever and practical ideas that let you know its designer has fed more than one anchovy to an albacore. This boat is a true walk-around sportfisher. The only things that are mounted on the gunwale are two running lights, four rod holders, six cleats and a bow rail. The tower mounts in the deck and is fiberglassed to the keel. The outriggers are on the upper station platform. The skid-resistant forward deck is reached along three well non-skidded steps and 27-inch-wide side decks. Until I saw the Orca 36, I didn’t think that Eastern boat builders knew how to design a boat for marlin fishing. So, it came as no surprise to learn that Joe Geiger, the boat’s builder, is really a transplanted Californian who learned his fishing in the Pacific. We tested the Orca 36 with the builder at the helm, off Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Weather conditions included a south wind of 15 knots and waves of three to four feet high in the Gulf Stream. Geiger fired up the engines and spun the boat to head out on the water, on one engine. Steering on one engine was excellent. In protected water, Geiger eased the throttles forward to 1,200 rpm. The bow rose a few degrees and the boat was solidly on plane at about 10 knots. The fuel flow gauges each registered 1.8 gallons per hour. As rpm increased, forward visibility remained good from the lower station. At 2,000 rpm “ at 50 percent power “ fuel consumption was eight gph per engine at 30 knots. The 300 hp Cummins diesels top out at 2,800 rpm and burn 16 gph each.
    As I took the wheel, we headed out to sea to find out how the 36 would perform in more rugged conditions. It held a steady 2,000 rpm cruising speed, and its 60 degree-V bow seemed to slice through the waves and push them aside. Head seas, following seas and beam seas all were no problem for the 36. In a variety of maneuvers, there was no pounding, jarring, broaching, or spray, even on the windward side. And when it was stopped dead in the water, the Orca 36 sat steady and showed an uncanny ability to recover from a wave-induced roll. Since a beam sea is the predominant condition heading south from San Diego, we headed east to the Gulf Stream. About 10 miles out, the seas built noticeably, but the Orca held a steady 90 degree, and 2,000 rpm speed. After a wide turn into the wind, we headed home. Still, we saw no spray on the boat. I powered up to 2,300 rpm, burning 10 gph, per engine. By now, I began to believe the advertised top speed. This boat can really run. Geiger credited the boat’s designer, Charlie Jannace, with getting high speed from comparatively small engines in this large, well-equipped boat. Although the Orca 36’s hull is an extremely deep V, 60 degrees forward and 23 degrees aft, Jannace specified stringent weight control.     The result is a light and extraordinary, strong vessel nearly 4,000 pounds lighter than several other 36s I’ve driven. Maneuverability and power aren’t the 36’s only strengths. Orca Yachts didn’t miss a trick when they equipped the cockpit, which has a wide transom door and a waist-high, five-gph pumps. The six by two foot cockpit hatch, to starboard, conceals a three-foot-long, 68 gallon liftout fish box. Another fish box, to port, is five feet long and holds 115 gallons. It lifts out to gain access to a macerator pumpout system. A sound deadening box covers the boat’s four kw auxiliary generator. The helm station, forward, has a plexiglass-covered chart table mounted directly in front of the skipper.
    The Orca 36’s standard instrumentation, mounted in front of the chart table, includes a Ritchie 5000 compass, VDO engine gauges and dual FloScan fuel flow meters, with a totalizer. To the right are Mathers MicroComander electronic engine controls with auto synchronizers, trim tabs with indicators and an ICOM 120 flush-mount VHF radio. A large glove box is positioned to the left. Waterproof circuit breaker switches are mounted in front of the chart table. Next to the engine start buttons is a momentary battery parallel switch. Each of the gel cell batteries has a dedicated charger. Comfort and Convenience The 36’s bridge deck is comfortable. Its helm seat, two companion seats and four aft-facing seats are all grouped in the center of the bridge, creating a perfect setting for socializing and superior boat balance. Beneath the bridge seating, stowage space is abundant. Split aft-facing seats are sized to accommodate optional Norcold refrigerator/freezers under each side. Two tackle cabinets with 36 interchangeable drawers “ the most I’ve seen on any comparable sportfisher “ are mounted below the forward-facing seats. All seven bridge deck seats are mounted on a sliding engine hatch that moves easily, like a giant skateboard riding on 10 ball bearing rollers. Four stainless steel pins hold the six by five and one-half foot hatch securely closed. The boat’s entire seawater system is supplied by a single low-drag, transom-mounted pickup and a 2.5 inch hose, running into a large water filter and a sea chest. Nine hoses run from the sea chest to the engines, genset, air conditioner, bait pumps, head, cockpit washdown system and water-maker.
    The boat’s standard 500 gallons of fuel is split into three tanks. The 300 gallon main tank is located between the two cockpit fish boxes and is flanked by two saddle tanks, mounted outboard of the engines. If you think the Orca 36’s sea chest and sliding engine hatch are innovative, wait until you see the tower: It is supported by two killer whale-like fins, with port and starboard tower access ladders. The support fins are fiberglassed to the bottom of the boat and bolted to the bridge deck just outside of the engine hatch, leaving a 23 inch wide walkway. Access to the tower is available from the cockpit: Just climb up the ladder, open a safety gate and walk in. The bridge seats three with all of the instruments, except the FloScans, duplicated above. In keeping with the Orca 36’s main purpose as a high-utility, long-range fishing machine, the interior is very practical. Headroom is six feet, five inches, and a large head compartment and shower that will comfortably accommodate your biggest fishing buddies is located right off the companionway. Along the port side of the main cabin is a galley with two burner stove, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, double sink with cutting board and garbage disposal. The starboard side has a six foot, four inch convertible dinette that seats five. Our test boat had a V-berth and fold down bunk beds, but a queen-size berth also is available.
